2022 Portland Mid-Autumn Moon Festival
The Portland Mid Autumn Moon Festival is an annual event that celebrates the autumnal equinox and the full moon. This was the first annual Mid-Autumn Festival hosted by the White Lotus Foundation.
The Mid Autumn Moon Festival is a traditional holiday in many East Asian cultures, including China, Korea, Vietnam, and Japan. It is a time for families and friends to come together and enjoy the beauty of the full moon, as well as to give thanks for the abundance of the harvest season.
At the Portland Mid Autumn Moon Festival, attendees were able to experience a variety of traditional and contemporary cultural activities. Including:
Food and drink: The White Lotus Foundation hosted over 30 food and drink vendors— putting an emphasis on local AAPI offerings from within the Portland community. Many traditional dishes, such as mooncakes and desserts, were available for purchase. There was also a variety of food and drink vendors selling everything from dumplings and noodles to bubble tea and sugar cane.
Cultural exhibits and demonstrations: In addition to food and drinks, the Portland Mid Autumn Moon Festival also featured a number of cultural art exhibits and performances. These included martial arts, hula dances, vietnamese folk songs and Chinese lion dance — a featured presentation provided by the White Lotus Foundation.
Children's activities: The Portland Mid Autumn Moon Festival is a family-friendly event, and there was a variety of activities and entertainment specifically designed for children. These include face painting, balloon animals, and other fun activities.

With over 6000 in attendance, this was a phenomenal event and is something the foundation is looking to continue to do annually for the community.
